It’s late and I need to go to bed, but I just read a post that literally moved me to tears. So many of us, myself included, want to help make a better world. We know we could—and should—be doing more. But we find so many reasons not to—perfectly good and legitimate reasons that make infinite sense.
This post does a great job of capturing some of those reasons; some of the fear and anxiety involved in taking a step out to help others in a way we’ve never done before. But it also captures, in a beautifully honest way, the deep cry of the human heart to make a difference.
And in so doing, it shows how at least one person overcame their fears and hesitation. I am so proud of him. This is the kind of person I want to be too, and I am grateful for the hope it offers all of us that this is the kind of person we can indeed become.
