The Eagle Has Landed
So OK, it wasn’t really an eagle. It was a vulture. A turkey vulture to be exact.
There was much rejoicing and congratulations all around.
Plus some “Wows”. With wings outstretched, these are Really Big Birds—very impressive.
And then this morning when I walked out of the house there were two big vultures sitting on the chimney. I guess they were just waiting for us to evacuate the premises so they could descend and feed in peace.
I am really pleased for you Mary!! And all the operatives who helped in the Quest!!
I hope you get top marks at school for all the effort.

Super!! Congrats and a very satisfactory end to a fun saga. But my questions are--now that you've got the Turkey vultures interested in coming, are they going to hang around? If they hang around, are they going to scare off other birds you want to see? If they scare off other birds and you want them to leave, how are you going to invite them to leave? Is the carcass entirely gone yet, or does it still have its unmistakable perfume? This project certainly deserves an A. Cheers all around!!!
