My friend actually wrote a paper on what she views as the "masculinity crisis" in which she noted the same things you did, but in several works of literature. It is an interesting topic, which I am not quite sure how to approach myself, but interesting nonetheless.


I have yet to see Gran Torino, but have been inspired, haunted and challenged by both 'The Wrestler' and the story that Mickey Rourke brings to his portrayal of Randy 'The Ram' Robinson.

Last week's reading about the healing of Namaan and 'The Ram' got me to thinking about doing what's simple vs. what's easy. I wrote a bit about it on the blog this week (
