A Saint Is In the Garden

And St. Francis of Assisi no less.  No, it's not a statue--it's a daylily! 

Some flowers exceed expectations, and this is one of them.  The big blooms of bold burgundy red also have a delicate white edging on the ruffled petals that reflects the pale yellow eye.   Bud count and branching are also excellent, which means a lot of blooms over a long period.

Perhaps St. Francis will find a way to your garden as well!
