There's no two ways about it: sometimes life can be tough. We all hit rough patches. There comes a point we everyone feels like they could use a break. And you know what? Holidays and holiday of seasons can be that way for many of us.
That's why I like this picture. My younger daughter is fighting is fighting a fish just about as big as she is, and nearly as strong as well. So she's getting help.
And that's the key. Whether it's help from God or help from the good people around us who love us and are rooting for us--or both!--it's that willingness to let others help when we are growing weary or discouraged that makes all the difference.
And yes, she did land the fish. (Thanks to Tom Leary for the pics).
Two things I enjoy are family game time and Calvin and Hobbes. In the spirt of both of them, we decided to follow Calvin's lead and make up a couple games of our own. Not quite as exciting as Calvinball, of course, but we still had fun. Can you guess the rules?
